After Care
As an accredited System X® installer, we recommend adhering to the guidelines set by the coating manufacturer to ensure the best results. A freshly applied System X® coating requires approximately 2-3 days to fully cure, depending on environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature.
During this curing period, taking the proper precautions is vital to achieve optimal performance and extend the longevity of the coating.
Although the coating provides exceptional hydrophobic properties to minimize water spots, it remains susceptible to hard water spots during curing. Preventing these and other contaminants is essential, as their removal may require additional effort or incur costs.
Follow our recommended care steps during curing to protect your investment and ensure the coating delivers maximum durability and shine.
Curing Process
Curing Process Precautions:
-
Avoid parking under trees, especially those shedding sap, leaves, or pollen. Tree sap on a fresh coating can cause damage.
-
Prevent bird droppings, sap, or pollen from baking onto the surface in the sun.
-
Refrain from washing or scrubbing the paint or coating during this period.

Immediate Action if Contaminents Occur:

If your vehicle encounters water spots, bird droppings, bugs, tree sap, or other contaminants during the curing period, gently remove them as soon as possible following the care instructions provided. Remember, the coating is still curing, so handle the surface with care to avoid potential damage.
By following these guidelines, you’ll help ensure your System X® coating achieves its full potential, providing outstanding protection and shine for years to come.
Car Washing
Proper Washing Guidelines for Maintaining Your Vehicle’s Finish
-
Wash bi-weekly to prevent the buildup of dirt, grime, and contaminants that can harm your vehicle's finish.
-
Avoid washing in direct sunlight to minimize streaking and water spotting, ensuring a streak-free shine.
-
Wash from the top down, saving the dirtiest areas, such as the lower panels and wheels, for last to avoid cross-contamination.
-
Use the “two-bucket method”:
-
One bucket for clean, soapy water.
-
A second bucket for rinsing your sponge or wash mitt to remove dirt before reapplying soap.
-
Designate separate tools for wheels to prevent brake dust and debris from damaging the paint.
Standard Washing
-
Use a foam gun (optimal) or a microfiber wash mitt to apply soap evenly across the vehicle.
-
Rinse off the soap with a pressure washer (optimal) or a garden hose.
-
Dry thoroughly using clean, high-quality microfiber towels to avoid water spots.
Spray 'n Wash Self Car Washes

Dry completely with clean microfiber towels.
Car Wash Facilities
-
Use touchless car washes only to prevent damage to the vehicle's surface.
-
Avoid car washes with brushes, as they can scratch and degrade the finish.
-
Never select the “spray wax” option, as it can interfere with protective coatings.
-
By following these detailed recommendations, you can keep your vehicle looking its best while protecting its finish and coating.
Drying
Drying Guidelines for Your Vehicle
-
Always dry the vehicle completely; never allow it to air-dry. Minerals in tap water can leave deposits, causing unsightly water spots.
-
Use high-quality microfiber towels for optimal results. These towels are gentle on the surface and highly absorbent, helping to prevent streaks and scratches.
-
Avoid aggressive wiping. Instead, gently pat or glide the microfiber towel over the surface to allow it to absorb the water effectively.
-
Valhalla Detail does offer System X Renew™. It is a great drying aid. Using Renew™ and one damp microfiber to first dry the vehicle then follow by using the second microfiber to finish drying. This process will give you the best results.
Proper drying preserves the finish and ensures your vehicle remains spotless and streak-free.
Annual Inspections
Annual inspections are essential for maintaining the performance and longevity of your System X® coating. These inspections help ensure the coating is properly cared for and the vehicle remains in optimal condition.
To maintain peak performance and warranty validity, schedule your annual inspection with an approved applicator within 30 days prior to the anniversary of your last service.
While System X® coatings are durable and long-lasting, annual inspections play a critical role in preserving maximum gloss, protection, and overall performance.
